We have performed a wide range of different types of work ranging from MODOT, USDA, Missouri Department of Conservation, Airports, Railroads, Municipal and State governments, and Residential and Commercial Developments.

We are capable of bonding projects from upwords to $25 million; however, we still  encourage you to let us bid your project no matter how big or small.  Most of our projects range from $4000 to $6 million.  

Our Business

KAT Excavation began in the early 1990's with only Steve Bailey and a single employee working on a small project in our hometown Odessa, Missouri.  Today we have grown to over 35 employees with an annual volume of work exceeding $18 million.  We have completed various types of projects including MODOT, USDA, public city jobs and pivate work.  We have a fleet of dozers, trackhoes, scrapers, backhoes, trucks, and haul trucks to handle major excavation, road work, pipe laying (sanitary, storm, water), asphalting, and now retaining walls.

Steve Bailey: Owner and Project Manager - 27 years of experience in the construction industry.

Donnie Stephenson: Project Manager and Estimator - Over 30 years of experience in the construction industry.

Bart Fisher: Project Manager and Estimator - 9 years of experience in the construction industry.

Cory Jenkins: Project Manager and Operator - 16 years of experence in the construction industry.

Operator Foremans:  Justin Hibler, Paul Rash, Bruce Peerson, Darryl Fisher - 50 years of combined experience in the construction industry.
